If you’re an up and coming artist, you couldn’t have a better year than DaBaby. Helping Dababy and ensuring he closes out the year strong, is none other than Drake. With this co-sign, Dababy is in position to go into 2020 with momentum.
After appearing on Saturday Night Live as the musical guest and also featured on a sketch, Dababy has no plans of slowing down. Before he heads into the new year, which has him up for two Grammy nominations, Dababy had one last trick up his sleeves for 2019.
Performing live in Toronto as part of his Kirk tour, Dababy surprised fans with a hometown hero.
Hip Hop artist of the decade, Drake, shocked fans. And this time, Drake had no worries of being booed, as his hometown welcomed their hero. Drake would go to praise Dababy. “2018, 2017, I used to watch you rep your city,” Drake told DaBaby. “I used to watch you love your city. And look, we don’t say this to each other enough as rappers but I wanna say congratulations. You killing this sh*t,” said Drake.
Dababy appreciative for the Drake suprise appearance and for the support from what he calls a legend, was quickly to share the moment on Instagram. Captioning a video of Drake surprise appearance with, “Shared the stage w/ a legend tonight.”
The two have yet to collaborate but that could change sooner than expected. Drake would also take the opportunity to announce his intentions to drop a new album in 2020. “I love you with all my heart,” Drake told the crowd. “I’mma go back to the crib and try to finish this album up so we can turn up in 2020.”
Dababy was all for it, as he would tell the crowd he was ready to pull up and drop a verse on Drake’s new album.
