Watch Dave East Take COVID-19 Test For Jamaica

On Tuesday afternoon Hip Hop artist Dave East did whatever he needed to do for a trip to Jamaica. Including taking the required COVID-19 test.

In a video posted by Dave East official Instagram account on September 8th, the rapper is seen taking the corona virus test. The nasal swab test was performed on both nostrils. Captioning the video, Dave East explained why he was tested, “They Said I Can’t Go To Jamaica Without Being Tested. So Here We Go 😫.”

As of August Jamaica is now requiring proof of negative COVID-19 tests for all who visit coming from the United States. The requirement applies to all non-residents 12 years of age and older, with all tests taken 10 days prior to visiting Jamaica.

After the completion of the 8-second COVID-19 test, Dave East is seen teary and saying, “f–k”, prompting Juelz Santana to poke fun at East. “He ain’t have to go that far bro,” wrote Santana in the comments.

It is unknown the reason behind Dave East trip to Jamaica. Perhaps it is to shoot a music video with fellow Jamaican artist Popcaan. Back in August of 2020, the Harlem native dropped his third installment of his Karma mixtape series which features Popcaan on the song Unruly.

The OVO artist who signed with Drake’s OVO Sound label in 2018, recently celebrated Jamaican Independence Day with his latest project Fixtape. The project featured the likes of French Montana, Stylo G, Preme, Drake, and more.

“All when dem see me drippin’ every day
Anywhere you see mi, di Beretta deh, don’t play
Bring di chopper anywhere
Dave East make di ‘K sing e melody
Tell ’em man ah killy, doh
Killy, doh
Killy, doh
Tell ’em man ah killy, doh
Killy, doh
Killy, doh (Weh!),” Popcaan on hook for Unruly. (
