Wanted Dead Or Alive, released on May 16th 1997, is a collaboration by Tupac and Snoop Dogg. The song, produced by Daz Dillinger, was included on the soundtrack to the 1997 movie Gridlock’d. In the UK R&B chart, the song reached number four and number three in New Zealand.
Snoop Dogg and Tupac teamed up on the West Coast anthem, ‘2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted’ released a year prior. In contrast, Wanted Dead Or Alive has a more laid back beat with Snoop appearing relaxed in the visuals.

Ain’t no love for a real G,
Straight cowards all you playa haters kill me,
Throw up your hands if you feel me,
– Tupac, Wanted Dead or Alive”]
The video, directed by Scott Kalvert, is like a scene from an old gangster movie. It shows Snoop Dogg pursued by the Police department and the FBI and features scenes taken from Gridlock’d, starring Tupac and Tim Roth.
As the team of law enforcers raid Snoop’s mansion, the Long Beach rapper escapes via a secret door. At the end of the video, Snoop pays respect to his fallen label mate, saying “My n**** Tupac rest in peace.”
