The Fresno Bee recently spoke with muralist Omar “Super “Huerta. Huerta was asked by House Of Ink owner Cassieopia Smith to work on a blank wall that would include Nipsey Hussle. Smith would also request to have the wall include other icons. Such an icon as Tupac Shakur.
Huerta told The Fresno Bee what inspired him to paint the mural, “I was inspired to paint this one here because he did a song with YG. The song they did together was great and I loved that song.
The mural which is at least 10 feet tall is located at the House Of Ink on 725 N. Fresno St. Featuring Nipsey Hussle and Tupac Shakur, Huerta says he had many people stop by while he worked on the mural. “I literally had 15 cars. I had a huge crowd of families watching me paint Nipsey. All giving me hugs and giving thier props to Nipsey,” says Huerta to The Fresno Bee.
Expect to have one more icon added to the mural. Huerta will soon be painting Mac Dre in between Nipsey and Tupac.
Omar “Super” Huerta has previously done murals of Selena, Jose Carlos Ramirez and local football hero Tom Flores.
