Triple H Talks Commentating On SmackDown During Pandemic

The show must go on, and this is exactly the case with Triple H and the WWE as they continue to air weekly shows during the coronavirus pandemic.

On the March 13th episode of Friday night SmackDown via Fox Sports, Triple H appeared on commentary with Michael Cole.

Interviewed by The Pat McAfee Show, Triple H shared his experience commentating alongside Michael Cole during these tough times. “I was putting on my best Pat McAfee at that moment,” said a jokingly Triple H.

“That show all came about so quickly. And we’re down there trying to produce this event. No fans. No one knows what’s going on. Everybody is doing their best to their ability to pull together.”

“Out staff, our crew, our talent. I’m trying to produce this show,” explains Triple H. “We knew we needed a reset for me to come on the air and tell people what’s going on, please sit back and relax, enjoy this.”

The cerebral assassin would kick off the show on commentary as Sasha Banks, Bailey took on Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

“As I’m walking off to the side, everybody is pulling back ‘Don’t take the headset off. You gotta go back out there. Do the rest of the show’. And I was like I don’t want to do the rest of the show. They talked me into it, so I went back out there.”

Hunter went on to praise Michael Cole, WWE’s head commentator who in the past has endured much criticism from the WWE fans. “I can’t say enough about him. He takes a lot of criticism, Michael does. Much like any play-by-play, or analyst in any sport. He gets a lot of it, but the man is incredibly gifted at what he does.”
