Canadian rapper Tory Lanez gives fans a big surprise ahead of the release of the much anticipated ‘Chixtape V’.
Although only releasing three studio albums to date, Tory Lanez has put out almost twenty mixtapes. This includes the Chixtape series which started in 2011 and gone from strength to strength. The third installment saw a feature by British pop star Ed Sheeran on the song ‘Play Picasso’.
Fans are preparing for the release of ‘Chixtape V’ after Tory posted the cover and release date on Instagram. Last month, the Canadian sensation told fans that all the samples on ‘Chixtape V’ are from the early 2000s, stating that he’s going to take them “all the way back.”
Staying true to this statement, the official artwork shows Ashanti lying on a bed while on a blackberry. The photograph, taken by New York photographer Shane Crowley, will appear on the front cover of the mixtape and gives off that nostalgic vibe.

In addition to the latest mixtape in the series, Tory Lanez certainly shocked fans by giving out his phone number. Wanting to both promote ‘Chixtape V’ and connect with fans on a personal level, Tory purchased a new phone to answer texts from his loyal fans. He again took to Instagram to talk with his followers.
