Featured on the cover of Empire Magazine part of a special tribute issue is the late Chadwick Boseman. The special issue features personal remembrances from his screen collaborators. One of those collaborators is Sienna Miller who shares an amazing story when working with Boseman on the film “21 Bridges”.
The 2019 film co-starring Boseman, had the late actor vouching for Miller. Not only did he help her to land a role in the film, but he also pushed for her to receive a higher salary.
“So he approached me to do it, he offered me this film, and it was at a time when I really didn’t want to work anymore,” she said. “I’d been working non-stop and I was exhausted, but then I wanted to work with him.”
This was the very first time Sienna Miller shared this particular story. “I didn’t know whether or not to tell this story, and I haven’t yet,” Miller said in the interview. “But I am going to tell it, because I think it’s a testament to who he was.” Boseman would also donate part of his own salary to help boost Miller’s pay.
“And Chadwick ended up donating some of his salary to get me to the number that I had asked for,” she continued. “He said that that was what I deserved to be paid.”
Boseman passed away this past August due to his battle with colon cancer, a battle in which he kept quiet since 2016.
