Rapper Scarface Is In Need Of A Kidney After COVID

Recovering from COVID-19, rapper Scarface is asking for a kidney donation. The 49 year-old took to social media and the Hip Hop community has followed suit helping to spread the message.

On Wednesday Scarface tweeted the following, “I need a kidney ya’ll any volunteers? B+ blood type.” Back in March of 2020, Scarface was hit hard by the coronavirus. Speaking with Willie D, Scarface explained his condition after his hospital release on April 20th. “I fought COVID double bilateral pneumonia, both lungs and kidney failure, in my house. I have to change my entire diet, I have to do dialysis four days a week, three hours a day. That’s taking all my blood out, cleaning it and putting it back in my body.” (View: Hip Hop Artist Scarface Details His Coronavirus Experience.)

Speaking to Fox 5 DC this past June, Scarface went into further details about his lung condition. “COVID attacked my lungs first, and then it attacked my kidneys and knocked them out,” Scarface told Fox. “I got full lung recovery, but my kidneys never came back … I’m still a little weak. I don’t have a lot of strength in my legs yet. I still haven’t got full taste back and sense of smell yet. But I am glad to be alive.”

Twitter user @othasydemusic replied back to Scarface’s tweet, saying he would like to donate his Kidney. “I’m B Pos I got you for real. It would be returning the favor. Your music speaks to me more than any artist ever. Learned how to manage depression openly cause of you,” wrote the Twitter user.

No update yet as of this writing. Our thoughts and prayers for Hip Hop legend Scarface, and most importantly a true OG and friend to many in the Hip Hop community.
