After weeks of delays and teasing a mystery feature, Tekashi 6ix9ine will finally release his second song since his release from prison, and it features Nicki Minaj.
Making the announcement via Instagram was Nicki Minaj, as she posted new photos of herself and Tekashi 6ix9ine. 6ix9ine opted not to release the single ‘Trollz’ last Friday, as he stated, “out of respect for what we are going through right now.”
With its release happening this Friday June 12th, Nicki Minaj ensured fans that the sales from the single ‘Trollz’ will go to a good cause. Captioning the photos of her and Tekashi with, “A portion of the proceeds from #Trollz including merch items, will be going directly to The Bail Project Inc. The fund provides free bail assistance to low-income individuals who can’t afford to pay bail while awaiting their trial.”
As the Nation protests against police brutality, Tekashi and Minaj hope to help those who are in the “front lines” protesting for social justice. “We want to protect and support the thousands of brave people working on the front lines of social justice, using their voices to demand AN END to the targeting and killing of Black Americans by the police,” Nicki Minaj added on her IG caption.
The official music video for ‘Trollz’ is set to drop midnight June 11th.
This wouldn’t be the first time Minaj and 6ix9ine have worked together, as the two collaborated on the hit single ‘FeFe’ in 2018. The single would peak at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, at the time 6ix9ine’s highest position on the Billboard charts.
In related news, this past Sunday (June 7), Tekashi and Akon shocked everyone as 6ix9ine posted a video of the two recording a new song together. Akon who has always shown support for Tekashi since he was incarcerated will be featured on ‘Locked Up Part 2‘, which is set to appear on Tekashi’s new album.
