Hip Hop artist NBA YoungBoy and 15 others were arrested Monday afternoon (September 28) in Baton Rogue during a shoot for a music video.
According to reports he was taken to East Baton Rouge Parish prison on several dug and weapon counts. He was arrested after the Baton Rouge Police Street Crimes Division and FBI agents received anonymous complaints.
BRPD spokesperson Sgt. L’Jean McKneely Jr. made the arrests around 4:30 p.m. on 3800 block of Chippewa St. Some who were at the shoot was able to run off when police arrived. Drugs, large amounts of money, and guns were seized.
YoungBoy’s attorney stated officers conducted illegal searches. “Even with the illegal searches that were conducted, no firearms or controlled dangerous substances were found on Mr. Gaulden’s person or in his immediate control,” his attorney said. “It is important to remember that when someone is arrested for a crime, it does not mean they are guilty of anything.”
As of Tuesday afternoon (September 29) the Louisiana native was released. After being released from Jail, NBA YoungBoy bonded everyone else who was also locked up during his music video shoot.
Last week NBA YoungBoy’s album ‘Top‘ debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart. His latest effort allowed him to reach the number one spot for the third time in a year.
