One of the most talented production duos of all time sat down with CBS Morning for a rare interview. This marked the first time in years the Neptunes participated in an interview together.
After The Neptunes announced they return as a full time duo, Pharrell and Chad Hugo were nominated into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Joining The Neptunes into the Hall of Fame is Mariah Carey, Eurythmics, The Isley Brothers, Steve Miller, and Rick Nowels.
The 51st annual Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremonies will take place on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
During the interview Pharell and Chad described each other as a “Genius”. “I learned so much from this guy,” says Pharell pointing towards Chad. “He’s the one to me. He showed me like how to play the chords that I really liked. He is literally the guy that can pick up any instrument and play anything.
Aside from speaking about their nomination into the 2020 Songwriters Hall of Fame, The Neptunes also gave their fans a preview to an upcoming single with Hip Hop artist Megan Thee Stallion.
Megan’s debut project, a mixtape, which dropped in 2019 titled ‘Fever’ peaked at number 10 on the charts. Since then she has been working hard on her debut studio album titled ‘Suga’. Set to release in 2020 via 300 Entertainment.
Normani and Megan Thee Stallion also released a single with a music video this past week for the song ‘Diamonds’. The new single is off Atlantic Records various artist compilation album titled ‘Birds of Prey: The Album‘.
