Lil Durk The Voice Album Honors King Von In Various Ways

Lil Durk The Voice honors the late King Von, as the rapper surprises fans right before the holidays.

Von who was killed on November 6th during an altercation with Quando Rondo’s crew outside an Atlanta hookah lounge, is pictured on The Voice album cover.

Along with Lil Durk and the album title, the words “Long Live Grandson” is written above Von in red letters. King Von appears on one of the 16 songs on the album, with the record “Still Trippin”. Others featured on the album are Young Thug, YNW Melly, 6Lack, and Booka600.


The album released was a surprise for the Hip Hop community, but were notified only hours in advance. “The voice dropping midnight,” he wrote on is Instagram caption. “Tell the trenches I’m back.”

Backdoor which was released a week is also on the album and pays tribute to his dear friend King Von. “I’m The Voice, that mean Dee-Dee, he the threat / Don’t get stressed, ’cause foenem tweakin’ off the X / I know what happened to your homie, don’t be next / He got that get back for his block, I tilt my hat / I feel like I’m drownin’, got this water ’round my neck,” raps Durk (Lyrics via Genius).
