After publicly apologizing after slapping a woman Saturday night (March 7), the victim is indeed suing DaBaby.
Media outlet TMZ, has reported that Tyronesha Laws, the alleged victim has filed a lawsuit against the North Carolina Hip Hop artist. Suing for intentional infliction, battery, and emotional distress.
Speaking to TMZ via live video, Tyronesha claims she was diagnosed with a contusion after visiting a local hospital the next morning. “I woke up and my head was hurting really really bad. And, like the right of my cheek bone was hurting like it was tender, so I did go to the hospital.”
After the incident occurred with footage of the slap plastered all over social media, DaBaby apologized through series of Instagram stories. “I do sincerely apologize,” said DaBaby. “I do. I’m very sorry that there was a female on the other end of that flashlight on their phone.”
“But you know, keep in mind, I couldn’t see you because you got the flash this close to me. Which is OK, it’s no problem…. But fans—how many people know how to zoom in? Just zoom in instead of popping me in the motherf***in’ eye with the phone. But I do apologize that there was a female on the other end,” added DaBaby.
With that being said, the alleged victim is not accepting the apology. “He still makes a joke about it. Yesterday, he uploaded something on his page in a clothing store making a joke about it. So, I don’t feel he is sincere with the apology. I was embarrassed,” Tyronesha Laws.
Attorneys Matt Morgan and Chelsea Cromer represent Tyronesha Laws in the lawsuit. As they told TMZ, they are calling the incident as “outrageous and shocking”. Adding that, “Our goal is to deter similar conduct in the future and send a message that this type of behavior is not tolerated in America.”
