UK Hip Hop artist Bugzy Malone sustained serious injuries after a quadbike crash on the streets of Manchester last night.
Manchester-born Bugzy Malone, real name Aaron Davies, burst onto the music scene in 2010, releasing a host of mixtapes.
Along with the mixtapes, Bugzy Malone appeared on YouTube channels, freestyling and honing his skills as a young emcee. In 2017, he catapulted his career releasing King of the North, peaking at number four in the UK charts.
On Wednesday evening, despite the UK lockdown, Bugzy Malone ignored it after an online video emerged riding his quadbike. Shortly after, an Audi rapidly pulled out of a junction leaving no time for the rapper to react.
Malone’s bike collided with the Audi smashing into the driver’s door, sending him flying through the air, landing meters away.
As a result, it left the 29-year-old star lying in a pool of his own blood. The video footage taken moments before the crash shows Bugzy racing up and down the roads of Greater Manchester.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police made a brief statement about the incident and commented on the condition of Bugzy Malone.
“Emergency services attended and the driver of the quadbike, a 29-year-old man sustained seriously injuries and taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not life-threatening. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.”
Reaction to Bugzy Malone hospitalization came from fans and musicians, wishing him a speedy recovery.
Fellow rapper Krept said, “Prayers out to bugzy.” While Chip, who Bugzy previously had differences with, added, “Prayers out to @TheBugzyMalone from the most sincere place in my heart and soul. Hope he pulls through.” Lethal Bizzle, one of the UK’s leading Hip Hop artists, simply said, “Hope Bugzy is ok.”
