The UK is set for its own hip-hop/grime festival this month, Fire In The Park, where some of the best emcees will grace the stage.
Fire In The Park, a one-day festival, takes place on September 28th in Ponderosa Park, Sheffield. In association with GRM Daily, its an all-day special focusing on UK rap and grime. London rap star Giggs is headlining the festival, with the ‘Landlord’ bringing his set to Sheffield. With two stages and a funfair, this special event is expected to attract more than 8000 people
Headliner Giggs, from Peckham in London, released his debut album in 2008, titled ‘Walk in da Park’. Since then he’s rose to become one of the UK’s best emcees. His latest album, ‘Big Bad’, placed fifth in the UK albums chart and also features Jadakiss, Swizz Beatz and Ghetts.
Following on from other music genres, UK hip-hop now has its own festival that it can showcase its talent even more. With the breakthrough in recent years of Stormzy, Giggs and Krept and Konan, UK hip-hop is thriving.
The full line up announced online, with Fire In The Park welcoming Yxng Bane, Ms. Banks, Nafe Smallz to name a few. Other names from the UK game appearing at Fire In The Park are Mic Righteous, Jay1 and Polo G.
Fire In The Park Hosted By Charlie Sloth
Fire In The Park will be hosted by Beats 1 and Apple Music DJ Charlie Sloth. He will host his first-ever ‘Fire in the Park Festival’. Known worldwide, Charlie Sloth is famous for hosting his Fire In The Booth freestyle rap show. Furthermore, Charlie will incorporate a special Fire In The Booth set as part of the festival.
Described as one of the main events of the year, fans are to expect the biggest and best names in Urban music and top quality festival production. Fire In The Park runs from 12 pm to 10 pm on Saturday 28 September with tickets priced from £27.75
