While everyone is talking about Justin Bieber’s surprise appearance in Drake’s ‘Popstar’ music video, DJ Khaled’s persistent video calls to the OVO artist might be the real highlight.
Produced by OZ, this seventh collaboration between Drake and DJ Khaled finally has visuals completing its success. Popstar would debut at number three on the Billboard Hot 100, as the single is featured on the album ‘Khaled Khaled’.
It appears that if it wasn’t for Khaled constant video calls to Drake, all this might have never happened. As seen in the start of the music video directed by Director X, DJ Khaled’s video calls to Drizzy are on display. “Drake, I Know the borders are closed. I know they won’t let me into the country. What you want me to do,” DJ Khaled says in part of the various hilarious clips. “The song is too big. We have to shoot the video. We have to figure something out.”
In response Drizzy said, “This guy is off his rocker. Every 5 seconds on my phone he’s asking me for something.” Drake would also go on to ask other artists to drop a comment on his IG posted if they can relate to Khaled’s persistent ways. “All my artists that can relate drop a comment below 😫 @djkhaled.”
At the end, they indeed figured it out, as Justin Bieber replaced Drake in the music video. Bieber is seen living the mansion life with various dancers partying day and night.
