After being released on Saturday night from a Miami jail, DaBaby is giving back to his hometown of Charlotte. This time with donuts.
With an ongoing robbery investigation against the rising Hip Hop star, DaBaby is focusing on new business ventures. Or perhaps he is making matters worst by what seems to be an attempt to poke fun at the police.
During an Instagram video post, DaBaby explained his idea of opening a new business in his hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina. In the video he says, “Think ima get back to Charlotte and put a 24 Hour Krispy Kreme Donut Franchise on N. Tryon. No Cap.”
No one is taking this seriously, but it will be interesting to see if this affects his current case. As we learned in the Tekashi 6ix9ine sentencing, social media did play a factor in the ruling.
DaBaby is also facing a lawsuit against him from the promoter which he allegedly robbed of 20K and beat up. Working against Dababy is a surveillance video of the incident, showing DaBaby and his crew committing the crime. More on this story here.
Question remains, how will this affect DaBaby’s career long term. His sales as a Hip Hop artist shouldn’t see a decline, but his stock was on the rise. Especially after he appeared on Saturday Night Live a month ago. Taking the stage and performing his latest hits “BOP and “Suge”.
DaBaby would not only perform his two hit singles, but would also be featured on a sketch titled Hip-Hop Carolers. In the sketch, DaBaby robbed a family while they were distracted by Christmas carolers.
Controversy does sometimes equal sales, but it could also mean losing potential seven figure deals with certain companies and partnerships.
