Rita Wilson calls upon a classic Naughty By Nature track to help her through self-isolation while recovering from coronavirus.
On March 12, Rita along with her husband, Tom Hanks, announced that they had contracted coronavirus while in Australia.
The couple was in Australia because Tom was filming an upcoming biographical film, Elvis, about the life of Elvis Presley. He would play the part of Colonel Tom Parker, who became Elvis’s manager.
As a result of them both testing positive, filming has halted. Since then, other celebrities including Idris Elba, Andy Cohen and Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju have contracted the virus.
The 63-year-old actress took to Instagram where she showcased her rhyming skills, rapping along to Naughty By Nature’s Hip Hop Hooray.
With the novel Ender’s Game in hand, Rita Wilson rapped Hip Hop Hooray, in its entirety.
Released in 1992, Hip Hop Hooray reached number one on the Billboard US R&B chart. Naughty By Nature consist of Treach, Vin Rock and DJ Kay Gee.
The New Jersey group have endured longevity in Hip Hop, breaking out in 1991 with their self-titled album, Naughty by Nature. Posting the video on Instagram, Rita captioned it, “Quarantine Stir Crazy. See it to believe it.”
Reacting to the video, Vin Rock from Naughty By Nature took to Instagram showing his appreciation and well wishes. The veteran rapper described the situation as “Crazy eerie.”
He also told fans to pay attention to what’s going on in the world and to question everything.
Furthermore, other celebrities reacted to Rita’s video, including Jennifer Aniston, Anika and Kim Kardashian West. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star called Rita’s rendition of the Naughty By Nature classic, “The best video EVER!!!!!!”
