Bronx native and Hip Hop‘s top female artist, Cardi B new music is on the way as she prepares for her sophomore album.
Cardi B has been working hard on new music for second studio album. Her successful debut album “Invasion of Privacy” earned her a Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2019.
The 3x platinum album ‘Invasion of Privacy’ went on to featured her hit single ‘Bodak Yellow’. The single would land one the number one spot in the U.S Billboard Hot 100 chart. Becoming the first artist to do so, since Lauryn Hill in 1998.
Now Cardi’s focus is strictly on her new album as she tells Billboard, “I’m just really focused on my album right now. Can’t really say other things, cause my album is on my mind 24/7. Practically all that I am focusing on.”
Expect Cardi B’s new music not to follow any current trend. “This is the challenge of it, cause there is a certain type of music I want to do, but I feel is people interested in that? Because, I feel like things have changed. I feel like there’s more of a twerk sound going on right now. So, it’s just like, should I do my music around that, but it’s like I can not just go with what’s hot.”
Giving her fans a 7 second tease on Tuesday (February 26) of what’s to come on Twitter, has Hip Hop heads yearning for more. Cardi B can be heard rapping, “Don’t get offended by rumors ’cause I done heard quite a few / You might have heard I love red, but I slap a bitch out the blue / Hell yeah.”
Now word yet when new Cardi music will be released, but one thing is for sure other artist have already thrown their names out there, hoping to work with Cardi. A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and Rapsody have both publicly stated they would like to work with CArdi B.
