Cardi B Coronavirus Remix Is Quickly Moving Up The Charts

Grammy award winning Hip Hop artist, Cardi B, is back on the charts with the hit “Coronavirus Remix”.

Brooklyn native, 29-year-old DJ and producer, Brandon Davidson is the man responsible for the latest viral hit.

About a week ago, Cardi B took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the coronavirus, posting a video with the caption, “Ya keep playing I’m dead SCARED. I’m stocking up on food.”

Towards the end of the video, Cardi B shouting “coronavirus – ishh is real”, would be remixed by DJ iMarkkeyz and turned into a top streaming contender.

As told to BuzzFeed News, iMarkkeyz said the beat was already made and quickly came up with the idea when he heard Cardi B’s video about the virus. “[The beat] was in the tempo of how she said ‘coronavirus,’ so it kind of matched the beat,” he explained to BuzzFeed News.

Going from 96 to 11 on the iTunes Top 100 Songs Chart. Cardi had a lot to do with the song taken off so quickly. As the Hip Hop artist acknowledged the song throughout her social media platforms. “Damn I posted the iTunes chart 2 hours ago of this damn Corona song charting on the hip hop charts at 96 now it’s number 11. 86 on the overall charts ..I’m glad yaaa having fun” said Cardi B via Instagram.

Since then the song has dropped to number 18, but still beating out “Freak” by Tyga and Megan Thee Stallion, and Alicia Key‘s “Underdog”.
