After calling out the music industry and his own record label Sony and Universal via various Tweets, Kanye West has stated he will give artist under GOOD music 50% share of their masters. Such a proposel would affect artists such as Pusha T, Mos Def, John Legend, Teyanna Taylor, and Big Sean.
Expressing his gratitude, Big Sean replied back to West’s Tweet with, “Thank you!!! This would help so much.”
Big Sean is coming off his new released album ‘Detroit 2’ which landed him his third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 Chart. Sean sold 103,000 equivalent album units to obtain the number one spot.
Tekashi 69 landed at number 4 with ‘TattleTales’ selling 53,000 units, Juice Wrld’s ‘Legends Never Die’ at number 3 with 57,000 units sold, and Pop Smoke‘s ‘Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon’ earned 75,000 units to claim the number 2 spot.
Appearing on The Fat Joe Show, Big Sean was asked to name his top 5 Hip Hop artist of all time. Biggie Smalls, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Eminem all made the list. Although he was asked for his top 5 Sean couldn’t help but to add a few more of his favorite artists.
“I could go Rakim, I could go Nas, I could go Pac, I could go Snoop. I mean, so many bro,” said Sean, completing a Top 10. “I gotta put Outkast as one. There’s so many ways to go. The reason I call myself Big is because of Big Pun, Biggie Smalls, Big L, you know what I mean?”
