“Originally this car came out with Tupac in the video To Live & Die In L.A.,” Lloyd said. “I ended up getting out of Santa Maria from a guy named Carlos. I bought in January of this year, right before COVID.”
The music video was one of Tupac’s posthumous releases from his Makaveli album. The second single off the classic album and one of Tupac’s most popular songs ever.
Amazingly the 61 Impala has its original 283 engine. “We just took it out, put new timing belt, new valve cover gasket.” Helping with the upgrade was Kool-Aid Hydraulics located in Santa Fe Springs, California. The 61 Impala also sports all-gold Dayton’s.
Lloyd started his own car club out in Long Beach called Plata O Plomo which consist of about 30 members and growing. “I started thinking about it in about 2016, cause I saw a lot of car clubs. Some of them had rules, so I never joined any car clubs and I started my own,” Lloyd explained. “Every few months we pick up a couple of new members.”
