Wayne on Tuesday (November 17) was charged with one count of possessing a firearm and ammunition as a felon. The charges stem from a search of a private jet in Miami on December 23, 2019. An anonymous tip led to the search by police officers and federal agents. According to the court filing by the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Florida, Wayne could face a max of 10 years behind bars.

In a statement released by Wayne’s lawyer Howard Srebnick, he questions the reasoning behind the charges. “There is no allegation that he ever fired it, brandished it, used it or threatened to use it. There is no allegation that he is a dangerous person. The charge is that because he was convicted of a felony in the past, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm,” Srebnick said.
